Synopsis
Daivakkolangal explores Thirayattam in South Malabar through Gopi, a Dalit daily wage worker and performer. During festivals, devotees worship him as a living deity, seeking blessings and touching his feet. Yet, his reality is meager pay and deep caste discrimination. Once the performance ends, the "God" becomes an "untouchable" again, barred from the temple sanctum. The film exposes the hypocrisy of wealthy temples that exploit marginalized artists as temporary Gods.
