Friends of Jilipibala / Jilipibalar Bondhura

Synopsis

A 12-year film project captures the life of a giant tamarind tree. Toddler Jilipibala befriends the tree's inhabitants, sharing their joys and struggles. As urbanization encroaches, the peaceful oasis is disrupted by construction and destruction. Jilipibala’s non-human friends struggle to make sense of the chaos, everyday life and devastation. The film is a poignant exploration of the clash between nature and urban development, seen through the eyes of a child and the creatures she befriends.
