Synopsis

Coal Diggers of India is a documentary set in Jharia, Jharkhand, where underground fires have been burning for over 100 years. Despite toxic gases, collapsing land, and constant danger, local workers continue digging coal to survive. The film highlights their daily struggles, resilience, and the environmental and social cost of the nation’s dependence on coal.
