Synopsis
'Viraamam' is about the lives of film projectionists across Kerala. As cinema moved from film to digital, projectionists were hit hard. The documentary explores life after film projection ended, the advent of digital cinema, what cinema has meant to be general public over the years and how it's changing. One of the projectionists who was interviewed for this documentary summed it up; "Film projectionists are like candles. People rejoice watching movies that we screen, while we slowly melt."
