Rahul & Rosa

Synopsis

Rahul and Rosa have been dating for seven months. The morning of a planned hike, Rosa overhears Rahul telling his brother that he’s planning to end the relationship soon. Wanting to avoid conflict, Rosa pretends that she didn’t hear what she did. She can only hold her tongue so long: Early in the hike, she levels with Rahul and storms away, ending things before he does. While she’s wandering alone, an eerie supernatural event causes Rosa to pass out — and Rahul is the one who wakes her. But Rahul and Rosa don’t appear to know each other anymore; we’re in some kind of alternate reality. Rahul and Rosa’s chance encounter leads once again to a romantic relationship — only this time, it’s Rosa who’s disaffected and misleading. After “Version Two” plays out in montage, we find ourselves exactly where we started, with the roles reversed. We close with Rahul making the fateful decision, against his better judgement, to pretend that he didn’t hear what Rosa said. Thus the loop continues.
