Kata's Motherhood / Kata's Motherhood

Synopsis

"Kata’s Motherhood" centres on Kata, a 45-year-old Hungarian doula who guides couples through childbirth as a counsellor, despite not having children herself. Meanwhile, Santwana, a 31-year-old Indian filmmaker, resists societal norms and is unsure about becoming a mother. As the film unfolds, it tracks their experiences while both are waiting for a baby to be born, prompting them to contemplate: Must the act of childbirth solely define the essence of motherhood?
