Synopsis

Untitled Kitchen’s “Karakam” is a cycling journey from Gujarat to Kerala along the coast, engaging with communities through shared kitchen and art practices. Along the way, the collective creates music, art, murals, and gathers oral histories. Rather than following a researched, planned, and orchestrated path, Karakkam takes a meandering path of chance encounters and human faithfulness. Instead of destinations, the journey itself becomes an experience to be felt and understood, with practicing artists who blur the boundaries among day-to-day mundane activity, art, the artist, and the audience. Midway, a global political crisis triggers a severe gas shortage, disrupting their work and revealing how distant events impact even remote spaces. This film explores their struggles and solidarity, the different ways they express emotions, and how they come together to move forward.
