Friend of the Fireflies

Synopsis

Friend of the Fireflies is an intimate political story set in Maraknar, a remote tribal village in Maharashtra’s Gadchiroli district. The film follows a young Adivasi woman whose childhood dream of becoming a sportsperson slowly transforms into a larger calling—standing up for her community. Growing up amid generational oppression rooted in illiteracy and neglect, she witnesses how the absence of education limits choices and silences voices.
